Ingredient Qty. Unit
lean ground lamb (can sub with ground beef) 1 Pounds
cloves garlic, minced 4 Each
dried minced onion 1 1/2 Teaspoons
dijon or creole mustard 1 Tablespoons
kosher salt 3/4 Teaspoons
freshly ground pepper 1/4 Teaspoons
red wine vinegar 1 Tablespoons
dried oregano 1/2 Teaspoons
chopped rosemary, dried or fresh 1 Teaspoons
whole wheat pitas or 6-inch rounds of flatbread 4 Each
thin onion slices 1 Each
fresh tomato slices 1 Each
Tzatziki 1 Each
Directions
  1) Gently combine lamb, garlic, onion, mustard, salt, pepper, vinegar, oregano, and rosemary with your hands and shape into 4 oblong patties (they'll fit better in the pitas. Grill 5-6 minutes on each side and remove from heat.
  2) Allow to stand 5 minutes. Place on pitas or flatbread and add onion, tomatoes, and Tzatziki. Fold like a taco and serve immediately. For easy serving andcleaning, wrap in aluminum foil.
Yield Cook Time
4 sandwiches 15 minutes
