Ingredient Qty. Unit
unsalted butter (or 1 stick) 1/2 Cups
md. onion, diced 1/2 Each
14.5 oz cans diced tomato w/juice, unsalted 2 Each
kosher salt 1 Teaspoons
pepper 1/2 Teaspoons
baking soda 1/4 Teaspoons
dried thyme 1/2 Teaspoons
fresh orange juice 1 Cups
whipping cream 1/2 Cups
Directions
  1) In a saucepan, melt butter, add onions, saute until translucent.
  2) Add tomatoes, salt, pepper, baking soda, thyme
  3) Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer about 15 min.
  4) Puree in a food processor or blender. Strain through a sieve or food mill.
  5) Return to saucepan and stir in orange juice and cream
