Ingredient Qty. Unit
Happiness 1 Cups
Hamburger 1 Each
onions (chopped) 1 1/2 Each
Cans Stewed Tomatoes 1 Each
Salt (to taste) 1 Each
Pepper (to taste) 1 Each
Greek Seasoning (to taste) 1 Each
Basil (to taste) 1 Each
Oregano (to taste) 1 Each
Red Pepper Flakes (to taste) 1 Each
Cabbage (chopped) 1/2 Each
Swiss Cheese 1 Each
Directions
  1) There are no actual measurements to this soup, but I will give an "about" measurement. Brown Hamburger and salt and pepper it. Set aside.
  2) Saute about 1 to 2 chopped onions in olive oil (My Dad goes heavy on the onions). Once the onions have cooked enough to make you happy add about 4 to 5 large carrots chopped/diced/sliced...whatever. Continue to saute. Then add about 4 to 5 potatoes (red or white) sliced/chopped/diced.
  3) Add 1 to 2 cans of Stewed Tomatoes (plain or Italian) If tomatoes are in season I chop up fresh tomatoes instead of the Stewed Tomatoes. Sometimes I blend the tomatoes. Add some water (the amount depends on the amount of vegetables you have in your pot)...about 6-10 cups. Then add some (about 3-4) bouillon cubes (beef or chicken). Cook until the potatoes and carrots are cooked.
  4) Seasonings: Shake in some of the following seasonings: Salt and Pepper, Greek Seasoning, Italian Seasoning or a little Basil and Oregano, A little bit of Red Pepper Flakes, Parsley...and whatever else you like. This time I used S&P, Greek Seasoning, Basil and Oregano, Red Pepper Flakes and It was good. Just remember start with a little bit - You can always add more.
  5) Add your hamburger. Then add about 1/2 to a whole chopped cabbage. (My Dad also goes heavy on the cabbage. He makes the soup the best). Let the soup simmer until the cabbage is cooked. Serve with Swiss cheese.

Ben  In the future you may want to consider guessing on the ingredients. You can't scale the ingredients on this page or search for ingredients on the search page unless they're added as ingredients rather than steps.
