Ingredient Qty. Unit
peeled, sliced peaches 4 Cups
sugar 2 Cups
water 1/2 Cups
self-rising flour 1 1/2 Cups
milk 1 1/2 Cups
ground cinnamon 1 Each
Directions
  1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2) Combine the peaches, 1 cup sugar, and water in a saucepan and mix well. Bring to boil and simmer for 10 min. Remove from heat.
  3) Put butter in a 3-quart baking dish and place in oven to melt.
  4) Mix remaining 1 cup sugar, flour, and milk slowly to prevent clumping. Pour mixture over melted butter. Do not stir. Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in syrup. Sprinkle top with ground cinnamon (optional). Battre will rise to top during baking.
  5) Bake for 30-45 min.
  6) To serve, scoop onto plate and serve with your choice of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
  7) If you don't have self rising flour, you can make by adding to one cup of reg flour 1 1/2 teas. baking powder and 1/2 teas. salt.
