Ingredient Qty. Unit
olive oil, extra virgin 1 Tablespoons
garlic cloves, minced 3 Dash
cans (28 oz.), crushed tomatoes 2 Each
water 1 1/2 Cups
dried basil 2 Teaspoons
dried fennel seed 2 Teaspoons
dried parsley 2 Teaspoons
salt 2 Teaspoons
pepper, to taste 1 Each
red chili pepper flakes to taste 1 Each
top with fresh chopped basil and grated parmesan cheese 1 Each
Directions
  1) Heat oil in a large port of Dutch oven. Saute garlic in oil.
  2) Add all other ingredients to the pot and bring to a boil. Once at a boil, cover and reduce heat.
  3) Simmer for 25-30 minutes.
  4) Add optional toppings and serve with meatballs or over your favorite pasta.
